Legislative breakfast planned April 4

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs will host a Legislative breakfast on Monday, April 4 at 7:30 a.m. at Maple UnCommon Guest House. Reservations will be needed. Breakfast is free to Chamber members and $10 for non-members.

Presented with the plaque for the oldest Columbus High School graduate attending the 2018 All School Reunion celebration was the late Ron Boulware. Presention the award was Miss Columbus, Morgan Cassidy.

The policies and programs of the Chamber are approved by the Board of Directors, elected by the general membership. From this membership the committees are formed who, in turn, focus their attention upon the issues affecting business in the Columbus and surrounding area.

After meeting a number of monumental stipulations, Cherokee County Girl Scout Anna Head was honored with a Silver Award on February 15. Leaders in both the organization and the city of Columbus attended the ceremony at the Girl Scout House.

Brand new ideas were on bloom in the Cherokee County Extension Office during the Fresh Conversations meeting on February 16. Program Assistants Julie Thomas and Megan Haywood led a group of four women through the program that covered the topics of gut health and sugar intake.

Neutral church plans pancake dinner event

A pancake dinner will be held at the Neutral Methodist Church Saturday, February 26 from 4 p. m. to 7 p.m. They will be serving custom ground whole hog sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy for a donation. There will be seating inside. Also carryouts are available.
