Park, Highland students celebrate before break

Seasonal celebrations took over most aspects of two Columbus schools before the holiday break.. Several grades of children in both Park Elementary and Highland Elementary saw students getting ready for their upcoming Christmas break with a pajama day.

Early porcelain sold at auction in New York City

Chelsea porcelain was made in Chelsea, England, about 1750. One of the famous pieces is the “Goat and Bee” milk jug that was designed by Nicholas Sprimont (1716-1771). He was born in Liege (in what is now Belgium) and started working in London about 1742.

A group of carolers from Center Christian Church made their rounds singing a number favorite holiday tunes. One of the residents to receive a Christmas serenade was Betty Zwahlen who seemed to enjoy the musical ensemble.

Hodgsons welcome son James Tripp

Travis, Tera, and Paislee Kay Hodgson welcomed their son and brother, James Tripp Hodgson, Tuesday, December 7, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo. James arrived at 4:01 a.m. weighing six pounds, 3.1 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long. His maternal grandparents are Bryon and Traci Spear, Columbus.
