A special program on the history of the first schools in Baxter Springs was presented at the November 6 P.E.O. Chapter BT of Baxter Springs meeting. The group met at noon in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Linda Crotts and Alma Cook.

Columbus Lions Club has announced the October Lion of the Month. Columbus High School senior Chesney Dobkins is a member of LEO Club. She is a member of the Titan Spirit Squad made up of both cheerleaders and the dance team. Dobkins performed in the 2022 Shrine Bowl.
