At a special Veteran’s Day program, Friday, November 11, at Lakeside School in Pittsburg Elijah E. Touchton, was honored with a Quilt of Valor. Touchton was a member of the US Air Force 1961 - 1969. He served during Vietnam War with the 8th Army Field Hospital and Security Police.

Columbus Titan Jazz Band presents ‘Channel Surfing’

Member of the Columbus Unified High School Jazz Band presented “Channel Surfing” November 12 and 13. Casey Dietz, Ruby Stover and Chloe Rogers performed a skit entitled “Barbie Dream House Adventure.” In the skit “Powder Puff Girls” Graci Major, Taryn Billings and Torey Tedlock caught a robber.

Time to nominate for Chris Award

It is time for residents to make a nomination for the annual Columbus Chris Award. Nominations are due by December 30. The Chamber often hears, after the fact, “so and so” should have been nominated. If they are not nominated, they can’t win.

Christmas celebration rapidly approaching

The Christmas Celebration committee and members of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce have announced plans for the annual Christmas Celebration. The Christmas Celebration will be Wednesday evening, November 30. Santa has been contacted and he plans to be in the parade, which will begin at 7 p.m.
