Good news. We went the entire month of October with no floods in the ladies’ restroom. The handicap stool works fine so far. We didn’t have to drag out any blankets, nor towels and my bathing suit is back in the drawer.
Each Tuesday morning at the Lowell Friends Church members of the Linus organization make weighted blankets for special needs children in schools, special education organizations and for residents in rest homes.
Blaine and Christine Bowman will be in concert Sunday November 20 at the Columbus Christian Center located on Merle Evans Drive. Services will begin at 10 a.m. with a time of fellowship.
The Heisman Trophy Trust announced the 2022 school winners for the Heisman High School Scholarship.
Three area students have been selected. Malia Vinson was selected from the Southeast High School.

Employees at the Cherokee County Courthouse dressed up for Halloween. Some were characters from the Flintstones others dressed in 80’s attire. They were greeted by trick or treaters from area day cares and preschools. These youngsters were happy to get some candy
Columbus Unified High School will be honoring veterans with a breakfast at 8:15 a.m. in the Columbus Unified High School cafeteria Friday, November 11.
This is for all veterans, current servicemen and a guest.
We don’t like to think about it, but 2023 will soon be here. That means for the tourism committee of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, the 2023 Calendar of Events brochure needs to be printed and sent out to visitor centers in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
