John More reads historic papers

Friday afternoon a man appeared dressed in colonial garb on the County Courthouse steps and began reading the Declaration of Independence.It appears John More of Eudora, is travelling to all the counties in Kansas with the intent to read the countries earliest papers to the public.

Clean up of Spring River may be working

For decades before anyone talked about cleaning up the pollution in one of the world’s top lead and zinc mining regions, heavy metals pummeled the Spring River.

Though they were small in number, those who turned out at the St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Weir joined more than 2-million other Americans Saturday to honor those who served in the American armed services.
