Area Accident reports

A two-vehicle injury accident occurred December 10 at approximately 1:44 p.m. just south of 520th Street in Crawford County. A 2011 Toyota Prius driven by Frank Martin Merrifield, 65, Pittsburg, was traveling east on 520th Street.

Cherokee County Jail Report

Rance Hernandez-Castro, 35, was arrested Thursday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and is being held in lieu of $300 bail.

New CCC program has ribbon cutting

A ribbon cutting and open house was held Wednesday celebrating a major addition to the Coffeyville Community College Columbus Campus programs.The newly initiated field of study in Powersports Technology will allow students to gain real experience in the field small engine repair.
