Rena Miller

Rena M. Miller, 84, Baxter Springs, a book keeper, died Wednesday January 3, 2024 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Born April 2, 1939 in Harrisonville, Mo., Rena was the daughter of Wayne and Opal Leslie.

Rena was one of five children; oldest to youngest: Maurice Leslie, Nita Good, Rena Miller, Larry Leslie and Linda Wiley.

Rena and Jerry O. Miller were united in marriage April 2, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rena was preceded in death by two brother and one sister.

Survivors include a son Randy Miller and wife Portia of Baxter Springs; a daughter, Jena Fellers and husband Steve of Billings, Okla.; sister Linda Wiley of Amarillo, Texas. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

She worked at several manufacturing businesses as a bookkeeper including MSW Mfg. in Carterville, Mo.; Jackson Jordan Mfg. in Baxter Springs; Ingersoll-Rand in Baxter Springs and Jim Woods Oil in Carden. Rena was an avid Chiefs fan.

The family joke was “Everybody Loves Rena”. She impacted many lives through her love and faith in Christ. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial service will be held January 13 at 2 p.m. at ChristPoint church in Galena. The family asks in lieu of flowers to make donations to ChristPoint church.
