In a very close contest Mayor Kelly Abbott edged Casi Shaw in the August preliminary round of the November election for Baxter Springs Mayor.Abbot received 153 votes and Shaw received 126, Shannon McDonough received 36 and Sherry Brown received 14 votes.There were three writein votes.The two top vote getters, Abbott and Shaw, will face off in the November general election....
