Ped Weir, brother of T. M. Weir credited with founding the community by donating property. However, Ped was also part of the founding duo.
Editor’s Note --A special section in today’s News Report tells much of the story of Weir. Most of the material was from the book written by the late Henry Stricklin which he published for the nation’s Bicentennial in 1976. His wife Saundra Stricklin served as mayor of Weir.
