Cheryl June Tavis, 73, Miami, Okla., died Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at her home.
Born June 1, 1952 in Picher, Okla., Cheryl was the daughter of Leslie Floyd and Delores June (Sharbutt) Carroll. She had lived in the Picher, Okla. and Miami, Okla. areas most of her life and graduated from Picher-Cardin High School with the Class of 1970.
Cheryl worked at Vicki’s Café in Picher, Okla., Sarge’s Café in Picher, Okla. and Murphy’s Restaurant in Baxter Springs. She was a member of the Highway Tabernacle Church in Quapaw, Okla., past member of Miami Elks Lodge No. 1320 and member of the Sharpshooter Dart and Pool League.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Leslie Floyd Carroll, her mother, Delores June Hobbs and two sisters, Kelli Hayes and Beverly Testerman.
Survivors include Michael Uhlenhake of the home; two sons Roger Lacy and Josh Lacy and wife Tonya, all of Miami, Okla.; one daughter, Joy Lacy of Miami, Okla.; four brothers, Stanley Carroll of Norman, Okla., Darrell Carroll of Bastrop, Texas, Bobby Rush of Commerce, Okla. and Rick Rush of Terrell, Texas; 10 grandchildren Andrew Lacy, Peyton Vanatta, Trinity Barnes, Tyler Griffith, Issac Lacy, Leslie Lacy, Kaisa Lacy, Espn Lacy, Adara Lacy and Kamden Lacy and seven great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 30 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, Okla. Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla. Andrew Lacy, Tyler Griffith, Issac Lacy, Leslie Lacy, Espn Lacy and Kamden Lacy will serve as pallbearers. Wyatt Vanatta, Seth Barnes and Don Thompson will serve as honorary pallbearers. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, Okla.
