A decrease in all crime arrests was reported by Sheriff David Groves in his quarterly activity report to the County Commission.
The Sheriff reported a 26.6 percent decrease in domestic battery, a 40.91-percent decrease in thefts and a 26.32 percent decrease in burglaries in the first quarter of 2021. There were no murders in Cherokee County during the first quarter of 2021.
