The weather didn’t put a damper on the recent Feed the Farmers event. Matt Case, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee and several members of the Shamrock 4-H Club turned out to fix hamburgers and drinks for farmers unloading at Farmers Coop. Wyatt Hall, Case, Gracie Jo Hall and Michelle Hamilton were preparing the burgers.
To show appreciation for local farmers, the Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee and Shamrock 4-H Club members put together meals and cold drinks for harvest crews to take back to the field with them. Michelle Hamilton, Gracie Jo Hall, Mya Hamilton, Wyatt Hall and Matt Case were assembling burgers.
The agriculture committee of the Columbus Chamber, with the help of Shamrock 4-H members, was able to feed around 100 harvest crews during wheat harvest. The member volunteers served at Farmers Co-op on E. Country Road and Matt Case, with a couple of 4-H members took food out to their East facility on Hwy 400.
