The Columbus Titan Baseball Team ended their summer schedule with a 13-0 shutout win over the Baxter Lions in Baxter Springs, Monday. A ninerun, fifth inning for the visitors resulted in the runrule win.Sophomore, Ben Major, was the starter on the mound for the Titans.

The Titan Junior Varsity Baseball Team came up short in their season finale at Baxter Springs, Monday. The Lions scored three runs in the first and fourth innings to take the 7-4 win in the final summer league contest.

An early lead for the Columbus Junior Varsity Titans ended in a 6-4 win at Girard, Thursday.A dropped third strike resulted in a Trojan runner on second base to open the game. Sutton Gordon went to third on a passed ball and scored on a fielder’s choice play.

Columbus hosting Cal Ripken State Tourneys

Coming to the Columbus Community Field Ball Park in July, the Columbus Cal Ripken Baseball League is hosting the Rookie 8 and Under State Baseball Tournament and the 12 and Under State Baseball Tournament beginning July 11 and running through July 14th.
Lyndee Smiley placed second in the girls 9-11 age group at the SEK League Junior Golf Tournament in Independence, Thursday. Fallon Smiley took first place in the girls 12-14 age division, and Alaina Smiley finished fourth in the girls 9-11 age division. The sisters, representing the Columbus Rec Junior Golf Program, each earned a medal for their collections.

The CUHS Junior Varsity Titans edged the junior Bulldogs, 8-7, in summer league play, Monday night in Galena.The Bulldogs struck first after holding their guests scoreless in the top of the first inning.Leadoff batter, Reezen Fields, was issued a walk.
