Lamar, Mo. takes junior varsity win

The Lamar, Mo. Tigers came to the Columbus Community Ball Park and took home an 11-6 win over the home town Titan Junior Varsity Team.Lamar scored three runs in the first inning by taking advantage of free passes to first base. There was just one hit with three walks and an error.

O’Banion first in USA Regional

Titan Sophomore, Mason O’Banion, took first place finish at the USA Wrestling Southern Plains Freestyle Midwest Regional Tournament Saturday and Sunday at the Kansas Star Event Center in Mulvane.Wrestlers from over 20 states competed. Mason defeated wrestlers from Kan., Ark., Okla., and Ill.

Nine Titan Wrestlers spent the weekend at Edgerton High School for the Eighth Annual Summer Scuffle dual tournament, honing their skills in the offseason.

Columbus Junior Golfers, Fallon Smiley and Mallory Thompson took first place in their respective age divisions of the SEK League Junior Golf Tournament, Thursday, in Parsons.Fallon won the girls 12-14 division with a round of 46.

Easton Long

Easton Long placed second in the boys 15-18 division of the SEK League Junior Golf Tournament in Parsons, Thursday. Easton shot a strong 47 for the course, just two strokes behind Tye Burnhart in first shooting a 45. 

Three medal in Chanute jr. golf tourney

Three Columbus Junior Golfers earned medals at the league tournament in Chanute, Thursday. Lindee Smiley and Caroline Scammon both placed second in their age divisions on the girls side and Jaxon Harper placed third in the 9-10 year-old boys division.

CUHS Grad on the mound for Mill Rats

Columbus Unified High School 2023 Graduate, Seth Stover, was on the mound Friday for the Johnstown, Pa. Mill Rats before a rain delay shortened his appearance. In the one inning he pitched, Stover forced two fly outs and one ground out, allowing one hit against the Normal, Ill.

Titan Football Camp Tuesday

Titan Football is hosting a camp for students entering grades 3-6, Tuesday and Wednesday. The camp will be from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. both days.The location for the camp is still to be determined pending field conditions.The cost of the camp is ten dollars and a guardian must be present to sign waiver.

Simpson unanimous 3A All-State

The Kansas Softball Coaches Association has announced its 2024 All-State All-Class Teams, listing Lady Titan Senior, Kaitlyn Simpson, as a unanimous Kansas Class 3A All-State First Team Outfielder.Graci Major, senior, was also named a first team selection at infielder by the association.
