Columbus Babe Ruth was the host and Bomber Field at the Community Field Ballpark was the diamond for the 2025 Kansas Babe Ruth District 5 East 13-16 year-old Tournament, July 11-13.Arma, the eventual District 5 East Champion, won the opening game, 10-1 over Fort Scott, Friday.
Isaiah Williams was named the Most Valuable Player and Ethan Midgett received the WOW Award for the Columbus Babe Ruth 13-16 year-old Team during the Game 3 loss to Arma, 4-5, in their second game of the Kansas Babe Ruth District 5 East 13-16 year-old Tournament, July 12, in Columbus.

Registrations are still being taken for the Wyatt Hendrickson, one day, wrestling camp being held Saturday at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium. The event is being hosted by the Columbus Wrestling Club.

The Columbus Cal Ripen 10U All-Stars opened their pool play yesterday in a Game 2 matchup with Salina in the 2025 Kansas Cal Ripken 10U State Tournament in Hillsboro. Scores were not available from the 2 p.m. contest.

The Columbus Cal Ripken League 8U All-Stars placed second in the 2025 Kansas 8U/Rookie State Tournament hosted at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark, last weekend. The hometown team fell to Parsons in the championship game, Monday night, 4-8, earning the runner-up title.
