Local players on scholastic honors list

Former Lady Titans, Aubree Saporito, and Katy Simpson have earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American Scholar Athlete honors. Aubree posted a 4.0 Grade Point Average and Katie Simpson had a 3.62 GPA to earn their scholar athlete distinctions.

CNC athletes receive state awards

Five Lady Titan Seniors were named to the 2025 All-CNC League honors list announced by league officials last week.Hailey Ediger received a unanimous vote as All-CNC League First Team, Pitcher. Teammate Katy Mooney was also an All-First Team selection for her play in the Lady Titan Infield.

Titan summer baseball schedule

Titan summer baseball has begun. The CUHS, state qualifying, team has nine dates set in June to get a jump on the 2026 season.Columbus opened with a varsity win in Riverton, Monday, and played at Southeast last night.For the remainder of the schedule, all games begin at 6 p.m.

All-CNC Baseball selections announced

CNC League Officials have announced the 2025 All-League Baseball selections. Two CNC League teams earned a trip to Kansas State Baseball Tournaments. St. Mary’s-Colgan won the class 1-2A championship and Columbus finished as a top eight class 3A team in the state.

SPORTS The Columbus Titans completed their Kansas Class 3A State Tournament appearance in a 3-4, quarterfinal loss to the eventual state champions, Wichita Trinity Academy, Thursday, at Kansas State University’s Tointon Family Stadium.

Titans compete at state track

Two Columbus Titan Runners tested their skills among the best of the best in Kansas, Friday and Saturday, at the state class 3A track and field meet in Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium. The meet is the largest and only allclass state track and field meet in the United States.

No games today in Chad Saporito Summer Classic

Teams have been added and the schedules have been updated for the Chad Saporito Summer Classic Baseball and Softball Tournament. Twenty-eight teams will play 52 games, 28 pool games and 24 bracket games played in two days, Saturday and Sunday at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark.

Columbus pool game schedules

The Columbus 8U and 10U Baseball Teams will kick off the Chad Saporito Summer Classic with pool play games at 8 a.m. tomorrow. The 8U team plays Girard followed by Baxter Springs at 9:30 a.m. on the little girls softball filed.The 10U team opens against Frontenac then plays Butler at 11 a.m.
