Titan Post-Grads collect awards

Katie Simpson, 2024 Columbus High School Graduate was named Region 16 Co-Player of the Week for Crowder College for the week of April 21. The sophomore had a .524 Batting Average for the week with three home runs and 12 RBIs.Her performance helped lead the Lady Roughriders to six wins in six days.
Lady Titan Senior, Katy Mooney, had three hits and scored three runs in the Columbus win over Oswego, 15-0, Thursday, at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark. The game was a make-up from earlier in the season. CUHS will play their first postseason game today in the Kansas Class 3A Regional against Cherryvale in Frontenac.

Titan Track ends regular season

The Columbus Titan Track and Field Team completed their regular season with meet at Chanute, the Thad Clements Invitational, May 9 and the CNC League Meet at Girard, Thursday.Several members of the boys team will be competing in the Kansas Class 3A Regional Meet, Friday at Fredonia.

Regional tourneys moved to Tuesday

The Kansas Class 3A Regional Softball and Baseball Tournaments were postponed a day due to impending inclement weather.The Softball game slated for Frontenac will be played at the same time, today with the semi-final and championship games moved to Wednesday.

Titans of the Week

All-CNC League Golf HonorsThree members of the Titan Golf Team earned All-CNC League honors for the 2025 season. Kanyen Smith, Easton Long, and Zane Gray are being recognized as Titans of the Week.
The Columbus TItan Golf Team took third place in their home tournament, Monday, at Brush Creek Golf Course. Senior, Kanyen Smith placed third individually and sophomore, Easton Long, took fifth place for the Titans. Rounding out the 2025 Columbus Team are: Lemmie Stone, Hunter Ruddick, and Zane Gray.

CUHS third in home tournament

Titan Senior, Kanyen Smith, led the Columbus Team to a third place finish in their home tournament, Monday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Kanyen placed third individually shooting 81 and sophomore, Easton Long finished fifth with an 84, leading the five-man team.

Class 3A Baseball Regional continues

The Kansas Class 3A Regional Baseball Tournament continues Monday in Riverton.Quarterfinal winners, Caney Valley, the number one seed with a 15-5 record and Columbus, the number four seed at 14-10 will play the first game at 2 p.m.

Frontenac Softball Regional location

The Columbus Lady Titans will play Monday in the Kansas Class 3A Softball Regional in Frontenac. The local team is seeded second with a season record of 17-6. They will play Cherryvale (12-14) the number seven seed, at 4 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.

Titans blank Galena in 3A regional win

A seventh inning catch in left field by Columbus Sophomore, Shade Schuberger, and a headsup throw home, held the Galena runner at third base and helped secure a shutout in the Titans, 6-0, Kansas Class 3A Regional win over the Bulldogs, Wednesday, on Bomber Field in the Community Field Ballpark.
