A two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning by senior, Rece Ponce, gave the Columbus Titans a walk-off win in their home opener, 10-0, over the Quapaw, Oklahoma Wildcats, Tuesday at the Community Field Ballpark.

The Columbus Lady Titan Softball Team is hosting a junior varsity tournament, tomorrow, at the Community Field Ballpark. Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Diamond, Missouri will be in Columbus for the round-robin formatted tourney.Columbus and Mt. Vernon will have the first game at 9:30 a.m.

Quapaw, Oklahoma jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the Columbus Junior Varsity home opener, Tuesday, at the Community Field Ballpark. But the Junior Titans came back with seven runs in the fourth inning to take the win in their first game of the season, 11-6.

CWC Wrestlers place at state tourney

The Columbus Wrestling Club sent 19 wrestlers to the USAWKS State Wrestling Tournament, March 14-15 in Topeka. Wrestlers placing fourth through sixth earned a spot on top of the podium. Brooklyn Collingsworth placed fourth in the high school girls 140-pound weight class.

The Columbus Unified High School Powerlifters are preparing for their Kansas State Meet, Saturday, in Iola. The Titans have competed in two virtual meets since January hosted by Goddard High School and Olathe East High School.
