Cal Ripken registration tomorrow

The Columbus Cal Ripken Baseball League will be registering players tomorrow morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark Concession Stand.A $45 registration fee will be assessed.

Girls Softball sign-ups underway

Sign-ups are underway for the Columbus Girls Softball League. Forms were sent home from Columbus Schools this week. They can be returned with payment of the $40 fee to any school or Red Iron Activity Center between now and April 1.A ten dollar late fee will be added after March 25.

Lady Titan Softball Camp Tuesday

The Ninth Annual Lady Titan Softball Camp is coming up quickly and will be held March 18 at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark.A great Spring Break activity for all girls ages four and up. There will be a session for t-ball through eight and under ages from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Columbus Lady Titan Senior, Emily Britt, captured third place at the Kansas Class 4A Girls Wrestling Tournament, March 1 in Salina. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.Emily opened her senior campaign with a first place finish at the Kan-Okla Tournament to kick off the season in December.

CWC qualifies 19 for state tourney

The Columbus Wrestling Club sent 23 wrestlers to the USAWKS 2025 District 1 Championships, Friday and Saturday in Lansing. Nineteen Titans and Lady Titans punched their tickets to the USAWKS 2025 State Tournament, Friday through Sunday in Topeka.

Galena to play at 3A State Thursday

The Galena Bulldogs kept their record clean with a 57-54, win over Girard for the Kansas Class 3A Columbus Regional, Sub-State #1 Title, Saturday, in Columbus. The 22-0 Bulldogs advance to the 3A State Basketball Tournament as the number one seed.

Titans end season with regional loss

The Columbus Titan Basketball Team had their season come to an end, Friday, in a 42-75, Kansas Class 3A Regional loss in Galena. The Bulldogs kept their undefeated season unblemished and advanced to the semi-final round of the Columbus Regional in the Sub-State #1 Bracket.

Lancers take OT, 2A semi-final win

The 14-5, number two seeded, Southeast Lancers, took a 63-62, overtime win over West Elk, 12-10, the seventh seed in the Kansas Class 2A, Yates Center Regional, Sub-State #2 Bracket, Tuesday, in Cherokee.
