Lacen twins take first at Monett

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Club, Kyra and Lyiah Lacen, swept through the 39th Annual Monett Youth Open and Girls Tournament in the six and under age classification, Saturday in Monett, Mo. The twin girls wrestle in separate weight classes in the division, earning the top spot on the podium.

Riverton edges Titans in JV battle

The Columbus Titan Junior Varsity has been honing their skills the last week against some pretty tough CNC League Teams. Tuesday, the junior Titans lost to Riverton, 61-63, at the Central Gymnasium. Friday, Columbus ran into a wild Panther team that took a 71-39 win in Pittsburg at St.

Rec Commission to host final games

The Columbus Recreation Commission is hosting the final round of league games tomorrow when St. Mary’s-Colgan comes to town for the day beginning at 8 a.m. at the CUHS and Central Gymnasiums. Concession stands will be available at all locations.

Columbus Fifth gets win over Lions

The Columbus Fifth Grade Boys basketball team played at Baxter Springs, Saturday, and came away with a 27-10 victory over the mini Lions.Lucas Haviland led the Titan scoring with 15 points in the win.

Titan Fourth loses first game

In a pair of hard fought games, the Baxter Springs Youth Basketball Fourth Graders got revenge on the Columbus Squad, Saturday, taking a 17-6 win and forcing an 18-18 tie. The Titans won both games in Columbus, January 25, 1612 and 12-9.

Riverton takes third win over Titans

The Columbus Titans and the Riverton Rams have met three times this season and the Rams (103) have taken wins in all three match ups.The high powered, fast break offense, paired with a full court press, no matter what the lead, the Rams are quick to put points on the board.

Four Titans wrestle in Bottorff Memorial

Four Titans from the Columbus Wrestling Club headed to Springdale, Ark. for the Chad Bottorff Memorial Tournament, Saturday.Three of the Junior Titans earned first place in their age and weight classes. Bearett Bowin, Lucas Natalini, and Briggs Johnson all wrestles to the champions podium.

Lady Titans shorted in dual

The Labette County Lady Grizzlies came to Columbus short handed for the Senior Night dual, Monday, against the Lady Titans. Three matches were contested under the center light with Columbus winning all three by fall in the 18-0 sweep.

Woods Classic brings CWC hardware

Seven Columbus Wrestling Club members earned first place in the 30th Annual Woods Classic, Sunday, in Chanute. The day was divided in two sessions with Jack Jessee, Kai Davis, Kayson Kesinger, Baylor Bowman, Blaze Bowman, Denver Hughes, and Cajen Smith each winning their age and weight class.
Lady Titan Senior, Emily Britt, was recognized during Senior Night Ceremonies at the dual with Labette County, Monday. Emily wrestles in the 140 weight class and earned a win over her LCHS opponent. Her parents, Kim and Carl Britt and fellow Titan Wrestler and brother, Carlson Britt, freshman, were on hand for the final home matches of the seasons.

CUHS Titans win Senior Night dual

The Columbus Titan Wrestling Program hosted Labette County for Senior Night and their final home match of the season, Monday, at the CUHS Gymnasium. The Titans took a 44-34 win over their visitors and recognized senior, Korbyn Newberry, in his last appearance under the CUHS lights.
