I came across a great book the other day titled, “Community Owned Businesses” by Norman Walzer. The topic of this book caught my attention as I have always believed that communities really can determine their outcome when they are creative.

An announcement was made by Barbara Farstvedt at the September 15 meeting of the Cherokee County Retired School Personnel that the Masonic Lodge is closing and a clock was donated to the group to do with what they wished. Lorna Stover made a donation to the scholarship fund for the clock.
Since 1990 students have been gathering around the Flag Pole to pray. They pray for their country, their school, their community and their friends.
In 2005 over two million students in America participated in the event. It is now an international event called the Global Day of Student Prayer.
