Bullard named to Washburn President’s list

Washburn University is pleased to announce its President’s List honorees for the fall 2025 semester.Kennedy Bullard from Columbus has been named to the list.To qualify for the President’s List, a student must complete at least 12 hours of graded credits and earn a semester grade point average of 4.

Wilson makes UCM Dean’s List

The University of Central Missouri (UCM) has announced the students named to the Fall 2025 Dean’s List.Shelbi Wilson from Columbus has been named to the list.The Dean’s List includes undergraduate students who achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or above.

Decluttering for clarity

People often talk about “spring cleaning,” though winter can often be a great time for decluttering as well. In a season with days of poor weather when we may find ourselves stuck inside, there are a few forms of decluttering which we may undertake.
There is always something fun going on at the Columbus Public Library. Recently, a Kid’s Create event was held where youngsters could make “pinch pots”. Those attending included Wilder Roth, Ryker Saporito and Layni Saporito. A second session is planned where the youngsters can paint their creations.

To prune, or not?

Whether it’s a warm winter or a cold winter, most gardening is still on standby. Winter is a great time to plan and reflect, start seeds, and prune trees and shrubs.Pruning can be an effective way to shape a tree, whether for aesthetic, structural, or production reasons.

Southeast CC will host trivia night

A night of snacks, trivia and fun is planned Saturday, February 7 at 6 p.m. in the Southeast High School cafeteria.Southeast Cross Country will be hosting their second annual Trivia Night. Teams of five or less. Players may preregister before February 6 at $5 per person.
