Seeking out lasting patience

About a month removed from Christmas, we should take time to rest and reflect on our actions during the season. While the craze leading up to the holidays can seem lasting, the feeling of them is fairly fleeting.

Grant writing workshop planned in Columbus

A special grant writing workshop is planned at the Cherokee County Extension Office January 21.In the seminar attendees will learn sources of data for community needs, where to find grants, elements of a great grant proposal and practicing the grant elements.

A special author talk and book signing is planned at new Frontenac Public Library.Author Jerry Potocnik, a native of Weir, will be the first author to hold a talk and book signing at the newly opened Frontenac Public Library at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17.

Offering Warmth in the Wintertime

As we endure the cold months of winter, it can be helpful to reflect on the individuals who may be lacking, or seeking out warmth. We are called upon to guide those in our lives to warmth, both physically and spiritually, when we can.
