Kannon Roberts smacked a two-run home run to left center field for his Vital Signs Team to tie the Major League/12U game, 5-5, against the Lions Club Team in the Columbus Cal Ripken League match up. The contest went one extra inning and remained tied due to time limits, Tuesday, at Volunteer Field.

The Columbus Recreation Commission Junior Golf Program concluded their three days of clinics with a tournament, Thursday at the Brush Creek Golf Course.Students from USD 493 participated in at least one instructional day, May 22, 23, and 28 to be eligible for the tournament.

Titans sweep Rams in summer league opener

The Columbus Titan Baseball Team earned a varsity/junior varsity sweep over Riverton, Tuesday, in the Summer League opener on the road in Riverton. The Titan Varsity Squad blanked the Ram Varsity in game one of the double header, 6-0 and took the junior varsity win, 6-2 in the night cap.

Frontenac and St. Mary’s-Colgan represented the CNC League in the Kansas Class 3A and 2-1A State Tournaments last week with both squads coming home third in the state.The Co-CNC League Champions won their respective regional championships to earn their spots in the state brackets.

Southeast Lancer TreySol Galindo placed sixth in pole vault and Eliz White took seventh in the 800 meter run at the Kansas Class 2A State Track and Field Meet, Friday and Saturday in Wichita.Additional state entries placed in the top 16 of their class at the meet.
