CUHS Golfers move to second in 2024 CNC League standings

The Columbus Unified High School Golf Team has moved into second place in CNC League Standings with one tournament left on the schedule.The Titans hold a slim lead over St. Mary’s-Colgan with a total stroke count of 1797 to SMC’s 1803.

CJHS Boys win eighth grade team CCCJ League title

The Columbus Junior High School Eighth Grade Boys narrowly escaped with a CCCJ League Title, April 23, in the league meet at Galena. The Titans scored 89 team points to take the league championship over Girard in second with 83 team points and Frontenac in third with 80.

Columbus JV edges Diamond Wildcats

The Columbus Lady Titan Junior Varsity won their end of the varsity/ junior varsity double header, April 23 at Rockette Field. After the Diamond varsity handed the Lady Titans their second loss of the season, the Columbus Junior Varsity edged past the junior Lady Wildcats, 3-2.

Major, Ediger toss 11 strikeouts each in sweep

Lady Titan Senior, Graci Major and junior, Hailey Ediger tossed 11 strikeouts each in the twogame sweep in Girard, Friday. Major added no-hitter to her, 10-0, game one shut out where she allowed just one base runner on a walk in the second inning.

Columbus victorious in CNC League sweep at Girard

The Columbus Titans won a pair of weather delayed games at Girard, Friday, 6-1 and 7-3 in a CNC League match up with the Trojans.Syler Schuberger, junior, got the start on the mound for the Titans and the win in game one.

Junior Babe Ruth sign-ups set

The Columbus Babe Ruth League held their first sign up last night and will be back at the Columbus Community Field Ball Park, Thursday, for another opportunity at 6 p.m.A fee of $60 will be taken for players ages 1315.

Carpino first at Parsons Invite

Lady Titan Cali Carpino took first place at the Parsons Junior High School Golf Tournament, April 23. Fallon Smiley placed ninth for the CJHS Team. Columbus is hosting their final tournament of the season today at the Brush Creek Golf Course

Titan Baseball Seniors recognized

Titan Senior, Huck Hallam, was honored during Senior Night Ceremonies, April 22, at Bomber Field. Huck is a first-year player for the Titan Baseball Team. He was escorted by his parents, Denise and Larry Hallam.

Titan of the Week

Lady Titan Senior, Katie Simpson, earned her 100th career stolen base in the Senior Night, double header, wins over St. Mary’s-Colgan. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.Katie has 19 stolen bases this season, 14 more than any other Lady Titan baserunner.

Lady Titans recognize seniors

Lady Titan, Macey Allison, was recognized on Senior Night at Rockette Field, Monday. Macey served as Team Manager for the Lady Titans after being a player for two years. She was escorted by her parents, Jason and Nicole Allison.
