The Riverton Rams Boys Basketball Team earned a trip to the Kansas Class 3A State Championship with their 52-40 win over Girard in the Class 3A Sub-State Tournament, hosted by Caney Valley High School, Saturday.The Rams came in as the second seed in the tournament at 14-6.

The Columbus Girls Softball League continue their sign-ups Wednesday.Officials will be at the Central Round Top Gym from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.Sign-ups will also be taken, Wednesday, March 13 at the annual Lady Titan Softball Camp, at the Community Field Ballpark from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Columbus Titans ended their season Monday night with a loss to Riverton, 69-47, in the Kansas Class 3A Sub-State Basketball Quarterfinal in Riverton.The score does not depict the type of game played by both teams as Columbus worked to climb out of holes, only to fall back in and start over.

Girls 3A Sub-State continues

The Kansas Class 3A Sub-State Girls Basketball Tournament continues tonight at Caney Valley High School. The Columbus Lady Titans (10-10), seeded third, got a home win, 47-36, in their quarterfinal game against the number six seed, Frontenac (9-11), Tuesday, to earn a spot in the semi-final round.

Four CNC League Teams advanced to Caney Valley High School for the Kansas Class 3A Sub-State semi-final games, yesterday, following their quarterfinal wins, Monday.The number one seeded, Girard Trojans (14-5), eliminated Cherryvale (218), the eighth seed, 79-23, in Girard.

Southeast hosts 2A Sub-State

The St. Mary’s-Colgan boys and girls teams advanced to the Kansas Class 2A Sub-State semifinals with wins, Monday and Tuesday. The final two rounds of the tournament will be hosted by Southeast High School.

Cal Ripken sign ups tomorrow

The Columbus Cal Ripken Baseball League will have sign ups tomorrow, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark Concession Stand.A second sign-up day will be next Saturday, March 9, at the concession stand, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.Sign-up fee will be $45 per players.
