Lady Titans Wrestle at Chanute

The Columbus Girls Wrestling Team travelled to Chanute for a mixer, Thursday. No team points were kept, but the girls saw some really good competition at the multi-class event. Emily Britt, Brooklyn Lima, and Brooklyn Collingsworth won all three of their matches on the day.

Lady Titans cage Lady Lions

The Columbus Lady Titans added to the chill in the Baxter Springs Gym, Friday night, freezing the Lady Lion offense and holding them to eight points while scoring 57, in the CNC League win, 57-8.

Titan of the Week

Lady Titan Junior, Katy Mooney, put up 27 points against the Baxter Springs Lady Lions, Friday night in the, 57-8, Columbus win. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week. The 27 points she collected Friday brings her eight-game total to 91, leading the Lady Titans with 11,4 points per game.

Titans to play in Lancer Classic

The Columbus Titans will play in the 32nd Annual Lancer Basketball Tournament at Southeast High School beginning Tuesday. Columbus and Parsons will be the final game of the night at 8:30 p.m., concluding round one of the tourney.

The Columbus Recreation Youth Basketball League opens their 2024 season against Arma, tomorrow.

Lady Titans take win in St. Paul

The Columbus Lady Titans came home from St. Paul with a 45-24 win, Tuesday, escaping a weather postponement. Columbus jumped out to a quick, 15-6 lead on strength of even scoring. Junior, Katy Mooney, pumped in five points with a two-point basket and an old-fashioned three, basket and free throw.

JV girls victorious

The Columbus Girls Junior Varsity squad was victorious in a 10-6 win at St. Paul in two quarters of play, Tuesday. Katelyn Draeger, sophomore, and Natalie Wary, freshman, gave the Lady Titans a 4-2 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Columbus gets win over Indians

The Columbus Titans put an end to their losing streak with a win over the St. Paul Indians, 63-43, Tuesday in St. Paul. Freshman, Drake Laurance, dominated the first quarter from behind the three-point line with four for 12 points and a free throw. He single handedly outscored the host team, 13-10.

Girls open Lancer Classic Monday

The 32nd Annual Lancer Classic Basketball Tournament gets underway at Southeast High School, Monday, with the girls, seven-team, bracket. Columbus will play the first game against College Heights at 4 p.m. Parsons and Baxter Springs will play at 5:30 p.m. followed by Southeast and Riverton at 7 p.

Bulldog Classic Wrestling winners

Josh Lacen and Jayden Dohle earned first place rings at the 2024 Bulldog Classic Wrestling Tournament in Independence, Sunday. Kyra and Lyiah Lacen won third place medals as the only girls wrestling for the Columbus Club in Indy. See complete results on page six of today’s News-Report.
