Titan Cross County runs at Indy

The Columbus Titan Cross Country Team ran in the Independence Invitational Meet, October 5th. Drake Laurance, freshman, continues to impress in the boys’ varsity 5K, placing tenth at Indy with a time of 18:31.05 minutes.

CAYS returns to pitch Saturday

The Columbus Area Youth Soccer League is underway and returns to pitch for their October schedule after taking the weekend off to participate in the Columbus Day Parade. Tomorrow there is full morning of games at Eddington Park on Froebe Fields west of Crossland Edition.

CJHS runs final race of season

The Columbus Junior High School Cross Country Team ran their final race of the season at the Pleasanton Invitational Cross Country Meet, October 5. Lady Titan, Myah Tash, placed sixth in the girls’ two mile race with a time of 15:04.71 minutes and Fallon Smiley placed 23rd with a time 21:22.

Bulldogs takes down Mini Titans

The Columbus Third and Fourth Grade Mini Titans suffered their second loss of the season to a tough Independence Team, Saturday, at Titan Stadium, 8-22. The Titans stayed within striking distance, 8-16, up until the 2:47 tick of the fourth quarter clock.
The Columbus Girls Golf Team qualified for a return trip to the Kansas Class 3-1A State Tournament by placing fourth in the team standings at the 3-1A Regional Tournament, Monday, in Girard. The state tournament will be in Hesston, Monday and Tuesday. Tee time is 9 a.m. both days. In individual placings, Reese Grundy placed 22nd, Mallory Thompson was sixth, Natalie Wary placed 26th, Amory Neely came in 13th, and Anna Head was 36th for a team total of 164 strokes on one of the toughest courses of the season.

Panthers maul Titans on homecoming

The Columbus Titans matched a feat only one other team has managed to do this season when they scored 20 points against the unbeaten Colgan Panthers in their 20-59 loss, Friday night at Titan Stadium.

CJHS Eighth 3-2 with win at Girard

The Columbus Junior High School Eighth Grade took a 32-20 win over the Trojans, Thursday, in Girard to move to 3-2 on the season. The defense for both teams controlled the first quarter with neither offense getting into the end zone.
Jace Midgtt, Titan Junior, caught a pass from sophomore, Jett Tanner, and ran in for the first Titan touchdown in the, 20-59, loss to St. Mary’s-Colgan, Friday, in the 2023 Fall Homecoming contest. Jace scored all 20 points with three receiving touchdowns and two point-after-touchdown kicks.

Colgan, PSU win again in week six

The week six contest had some surprises, several large point spreads, and a couple of undefeated streaks lengthened. St. Mary’s-Colgan kept their undefeated streak alive with a big win over the Titans in Columbus, 59-20.

Titan Seventh over powers Trojans

The Columbus Titan Seventh Grade Team added a notch in their win column, Thursday, with a 326, victory over the Trojans in Girard. The Titans jumped out to an early lead, 8-0, on a two-yard run by Jayden Dohle. Quarterback, Jace Gaither, connected with Logan Sloniker for the two-point conversion.

Lady Lancers sweep league night

The Southeast Lady Lancers swept Uniontown and Northeast in league matches, October 3. The Lady Lancers beat Uniontown 25-20; 25-17 and took down Northeast 25-18; 25-18. Scoring vs. Uniontown Junior, Teagan Warner lead with eight kills; junior.
