Final Junior Golf Clinic Tuesday

The Junior Golf Clinic is on Tuesday, May 30, 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Brush Creek Golf Course. A club tournament will be held Wednesday, May 31, beginning at 2:30 p.m. USD 493 District students ages six through 18 are eligible to participate in the free program.

The Columbus Junior Golf Program will begin today at the Brush Creek Golf Course. USD 493 Students in grades kindergarten through 12th are eligible for the free clinic and program. Clinics start today and continue tomorrow and Monday. Ages 12 and over will be on the course from 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m.
Titan Sophomore, Carter Henry, placed 10th in the Kansas Class 3A Regional Track and Field Meet, Thursday, in Fredonia with a heave of 43’3”. Henry qualified for the Kansas Class 3A State Meet in the discus event, taking fourth with a toss of 135’10”.

Life Christian’s Elementary division Bear Cubs edged Heritage Christian of Redfield, 58-55, to capture second place at the Midstate’s Christian League Track and Field competition last month at Uniontown. Fort Scott Christian finished first with 85 team points.

Colgan Baseball earns 2A title

The St. Mary’s-Colgan Panthers won the Kansas Class 2A Baseball Regional in Oswego and will represent the CNC League at the 2-1A State Baseball Tournament. The Panthers entered the tournament as the fourth seed with a (12-11) record.

The Titan Football Team annual golf fundraiser was held Sunday at the Brush Creek Golf Course in Columbus. The full slate of teams enjoyed a beautiful sunny day with minimal wind as they progressed through the course.
Columbus Titan Seniors, Jake Eddington and Robert Ward, receive the 2023 Kansas Class 3A Regional Championship plaque from the host Girard official, Wednesday, after defeating Frontenac, 9-5, in the championship game. The Titans (20-2, second seed) will face Kansas City-Bishop Ward (17-6), the seventh seed, Thursday, in the Kansas Class 3A State Quarterfinal game at Kansas State University’s Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan.
