Titan Baseball recognizes seniors, win league title

Titan Senior, Kayden Cox, was recognized during Senior Night Ceremonies, May 5, between the CNC League Championship wins over Frontenac, 6-5 and 11-4. Kayden has been a member of the Titan Baseball Team for four years. He was escorted by his parents, Justin and Melinda Cox.

Lady Titans to host Kansas Class 3A Softball Regional

The Columbus Lady Titans are hosting the Kansas Class 3A Softball Regional Championship, Monday and Tuesday at the Community Field Ballpark. The 2023 CNC League Co-Champions earned the number one seed with their 18-2 overall season record.

Titan Golf Regional Monday

Titan Senior, Mack Kirk, will lead the Columbus Titan Golf Team into the Kansas Class 3A Golf Regional, Monday at the Caney Valley Golf Club. Kirk finished the regular season, fourth in CNC League Standings and earned All-CNC League honors. Tee time is scheduled at 8 a.m.

Lady Lions win run-rule finale vs Nados

Baxter Springs Softball young ladies recorded their eighth run rule game on Senior Night, downing Coffeyville, 17-6 to finish the regular season at 12-7. The Lady Lions started the win with six runs. Senior, Lilly Weston, led off with a single, then stole second base.

Baxter Springs, Galena split CNC bout

The Lady Bulldogs put runners on bases in every inning but failed to score on their home field in Galena, May 8. The Baxter Springs Lady Lions defense created a 10-0, five inning, run-rule win. Baxter Springs started the opening inning with three runs.

Lions host JV Golf

Columbus Titan, Zane Gray, participated in the Baxter Springs Junior Varsity Golf Tournament, May 1 at the Baxter Springs Golf Course. Zane missed the top ten by one stroke in the field of 28 golfers, shooting a 55. Frontenac’s Noah Eichorn was the top medalist, shooting 44 for the course.

All-CNC Golfers named

The final tally in the race for All-CNC League Golf was complete following the Galena Invitational Tournament, Wednesday, at Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin, Mo. To All-CNC League designation, golfers must play in the six league tournaments hosted by league members.
