USD 493 Elementary Track Meet Friday

The Columbus USD 493 Elementary Track and Field Meet will be held Friday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with grades K-3. Grades 4-6 will compete after noon. In a change of venue, the meet will be held at Columbus Unified High School’s Titan Stadium due to construction at the Central School Campus.

Forms due for CJHS touch football fundraiser

The Central Junior High School is hosting their first ever, five-on-five, two-hand touch football tournament, May 15. Six-member teams can register by Thursday to enter the contest. Teams need to have three boys and three girls with five players on the field and one substitute.
Lady Titan Senior, Jailyn Rodriguez was recognized during Senior Night Ceremonies, Friday, at Rockette Field. Jailyn played softball three years after losing her freshman season to the Covid lock down. She was escorted by her parents, Kevin and Amanda Rodriguez.

Lady Titans split wins, CNC Title

The Columbus Lady Titan Softball Team split their final CNC League, Senior Night double header with Frontenac, Friday, at Rockette Field. The split earned a share of the 2023 CNC League Title for the reigning 2022 League Champions.
Eleven Titan Seniors were recognized between games with the Frontenac Raiders, Friday, during Senior Night Ceremonies. The seniors capped their evening with a sweep of the Raiders to capture the outright CNC League Championship Title, 6-5 and 11-4. Titan Seniors are: Jake Eddington, Robert Ward, Seth Stover, Kolt Ungeheuer, Cole Minor, Fischer Troxell, Landin Midgett, Kayden Cox, Jaspen Tanner, Brett Hamilton, and Cade Saporito.

Kirk moves up CNC Leaderboard

Titan Senior, Mack Kirk, has moved into fourth place in the CNC League Standings with one tournament left to play. Kirk won the Girard Invitational last week to move up the CNC leaderboard as the regular season comes to a close in Galena, Wednesday.

The Columbus Lady Titan Softball Team, 17-1, was scheduled to host the Frontenac Lady Raiders, 15-2, last night, but rain called for a postponement until tonight. The Lady Titans swept the Girard Lady Trojans, 9-5, 10-5, and shut-out Riverton, 11-0, 15-0, in their last two outings.

Mack Kirk, Columbus Titan Senior took top medalist honors at the Girard Invitational Golf Tournament, Tuesday, in Girard. Mack shot a 77 on the day, seven strokes ahead of the second place golfer, Vinny Pile, Frontenac, who shot an 84.
