Sarwinski leads CNC All-State honorees

Galena Senior, Mia Sarwinski, earned Kansas Class 3A All-State First Team honors from Sports in Kansas Media Outlet in a recent online announcement. She was joined by Frontenac Senior, Hattie Pyle. Lady Titan Sophomore, Katy Mooney, received All-State Class 3A Honorable Mention honors.

Ungeheuer, Midgett receive All-State nod

Members of the CNC League Boys Basketball Teams were well represented on the Sports in Kansas All-State Teams. Galena Senior, Tyler Little received the lone First Team nod on the Kansas Class 3A All-State Teams.

Southeast has six on All-League Teams

Six Southeast High School Student Athletes received Three Rivers League All-League Honors in a recent announcement by officials. Senior, Easton Renn, is a unanimous All-Three Rivers League First Team selection. Senior, Cade Burdette was also named to the All-League First Team.

Lady Titans host annual camp

The Columbus Unified High School Lady Titan Softball Team held their annual camp, March 15, at the Community Field Ball Park. Two sessions were held for the T-ball and 8U players and the ten and up softballers.

Titan of the Week

Lady Titan, Lizzy Welch, set a new state record and surpassed her own personal best on her way to a Kansas Class 3A PWT Powerlifting Championship. The first girls champion in school history is being recognized as Titan of the Week.

Spirit Squad Seniors recognized

Lady Titan Senior, Faith Henry, was recognized during Senior Night Ceremo- nies held February 17 at the CUHS Gym between the girls and boys varsity games with Galena. Faith is a one-year member of the Titan Spirit Squad. She was escorted by her parents Jim and Andrea Gaither.

Kansas Wrestling Coaches All-Academic Lists

Members of the Columbus Titan and Lady Titan Wrestling Teams have earned All-Academic Honors from the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association. High School wrestlers in grades 9-12 with a .500 record or better and a minimum of 15 matches are eligible for the All-Academic Honors.

Time change for 12U tryout, PHR

Due to morning volleyball matches and the Titan Baseball Camp, times have been changed for the USA Softball 12U All-American Tryout and the MLB Hit, Pitch, Run Event. The tryout will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by the girls HPR at 2:30 p.m. The boys HPR will begin at 1 p.m. following camp.

Southeast Seniors recognized

Malia Vinson was recognized on Senior Night at Southeast High School in February. Malia was escorted by her parents at ceremonies held in the high school gymnasium.  Drake Low was recognized on Senior Night at Southeast High School in February.

Titan Spirit Squad members continue in college

Three former members of the Titan Spirit Squad have continued their careers at the college level. These student-athletes have represented their team, school and community for a combined 39 years Nahil Fontanez has been a member of the Missouri Southern State University Cheer Squad for three years.
