Junior Titans win rain shortened game over LC

The Titan Junior Varsity earned their first win over Labette County in their home opener, Thursday, at Bomber Field. The JV squad came up short, Monday, in Altamont, 2-3, but were able to avenge that loss with a 7-4 win on their home field.

Titan Sophomore, Jack Vilela, threw a no-hitter in the 15-0, run rule win over Labette County, Thursday, at Bomber Field. Vilela had four strike outs and faced ten batters allowing two walks.

In their first softball game of the season, the Baxter Springs Lady Lions started deep in the hole against their hosts, the Sarcoxie, Mo. Lady Bears. Baxter Springs had eight strikeouts with the first eleven batters but came storming back for an 11-5 win.

The Lady Lions started their 2023 season 3-0 with a 14-3, five-inning, run rule, game over the Lady Grizzles in Altamont, Tuesday. Baxter Springs sent 32 batters to the plate in the win. Baxter Springs started with a run in the opening inning.
Kaitlynn (KT) Lopp, connected for a hit during practice, Thursday, March 23 at the Community Field Ballpark. Practice paid off when KT collected a pair of home runs during the Lady Titans season opener, Monday, in Altamont. The junior slugger also had a double to earn six RBIs and score three runs in the 17-1, Columbus win over Labette County.

Columbus shuts out Parsons, 15-0

The Columbus Titans plated seven runs in the first inning on their way to a 15-0 shut out over the Vikings in Parsons, Tuesday. The first four Titan batters scored after leadoff, Landin Midgett, senior and number two batter, Kayden Cox, senior, were handed walks to start the game.

The Titan Junior Varsity Baseball Team lost their opening outing to the Labette County Grizzlies, 2-3, in Altamont, Monday. Columbus scored two runs in the first inning of the three runs or three outs format junior varsity contest for an early, 2-0, lead.

The Columbus Titans met up with their former SEK League rivals in Altamont, Monday, and caged the Grizzlies in a 12-1 rout. Titan Senior, Cade Saporito, got the win on the mound for the Titans after coming in as relief for senior starter, Kolt Ungeheuer.
