Smith USAWKS State Champion

Kash Smith, Columbus Wrestling Club, brought home a USAWKS State Wrestling Championship Title in the 12 and Under, 215-pound class, Sunday. Kash won all three matches by fall on his way to the championship held in Topeka. He is the son of Jeremy and Megan Smith.

Galena Bulldog Senior

Galena Bulldog Senior, Ty Hall, comes down with a rebound in the Kansas Class 3A State Quarterfinal win over Wellsville, 38-35, Thursday, at the Hutchinson Sports Arena on the Hutchinson Community College Campus. 

Galena settles for fourth in 3A State

The Galena Bulldogs left for Hutchinson and the Kansas Class 3A State Basketball Championship last week with an undefeated record and goal of bringing home their first state title.

Titans down Raiders, advance to title bout

The Columbus Titans played their way to a shot at a sub-state title with their 59-45 win over Frontenac, Friday, in Girard. The Titans advance to the championship of the Kansas Class 3A Sub-State Tournament for the second consecutive season and will face the Galena Bulldogs for the second time.

Colgan eliminated from 2A State

The St. Mary’s-Colgan Panthers (11-11) were eliminated from the Kansas Class 2A State Tournament in the quarterfinal round by Wichita Independent (212) in the number one versus number eight contest, 55-46.

Titan Wrestling Seniors recognized

Titan Senior, Kayden Cox, was recognized during Senior Night Ceremonies held February 17 at the CUHS Gymnasium between the varsity girls and boys games against Galena. Kayden is a three-year member of the Titan Wrestling Team. He was escorted by his parents Justin and Melinda Cox.

Mini Titans to state tournament

Twenty-three members of the Columbus Wrestling Club are heading to the USAWKS 2023 State Tournament in Topeka today through Sunday. The Mini Titan Wrestlers qualified at the district tournament, Saturday in Pittsburg.

Former Titans compete in college

Numerous Titans and Lady Titans have continued their athletic careers on the college stage. Many of those student athletes are in action for the spring season.

Titans of the Week

The Columbus Titan Boys Basketball Team earned a hard fought runner- up position in the Kansas Class 3A Girard Sub-State, Saturday. They are being recognized as Titans of the Week. For the second season in a row, the Titans can boast a Class 3A Runnerup Title.

Colgan girls, boys to 2A State

The St. Mary’s-Colgan Lady Panthers (22-0) remain undefeated as they dominated the Kansas Class 2A Sub-State tournament allowing just 40 points to be scored against them while posting 143 points in three games.
