The Columbus Lady Titans entered the Kansas Class 3A Frontenac Regional Tournament as the number two seed with a 1410 record. The finished the tournament as the regional runner-up following a pair of walk-off wins in Frontenac.

Carter Woodcock, Columbus Sophomore, got the start and the 6-4 win for the Titans in the Kansas Class 3A Regional Semi-final game, Tuesday, in Riverton. Carter had five strike outs in four innings allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and one error. The Titans took the championship win over Frontenac and advance to the state tournament.

The Columbus Titans knocked of the number one seeded, Caney Valley (15-5) in the Kansas Class 3A Riverton Regional, Tuesday, in Riverton. The fourth seeded Titans (14-10), were the lowest seed in the semi-final round, pulling off the 6-4 upset in game one.

Addison Saporito is a sophomore member of the Ottawa University Lady Braves Wresting Team, the 2025 KCAC Conference Champions.April 1, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced Addison as a 2025 NAIA Women’s Scholar All-American.

Katie Simpson, 2024 Columbus High School Graduate was named Region 16 Co-Player of the Week for Crowder College for the week of April 21. The sophomore had a .524 Batting Average for the week with three home runs and 12 RBIs.Her performance helped lead the Lady Roughriders to six wins in six days.

Lady Titan Senior, Katy Mooney, had three hits and scored three runs in the Columbus win over Oswego, 15-0, Thursday, at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark. The game was a make-up from earlier in the season. CUHS will play their first postseason game today in the Kansas Class 3A Regional against Cherryvale in Frontenac.

Titan Track ends regular season

The Columbus Titan Track and Field Team completed their regular season with meet at Chanute, the Thad Clements Invitational, May 9 and the CNC League Meet at Girard, Thursday.Several members of the boys team will be competing in the Kansas Class 3A Regional Meet, Friday at Fredonia.

The Kansas Class 3A Regional Softball and Baseball Tournaments were postponed a day due to impending inclement weather.The Softball game slated for Frontenac will be played at the same time, today with the semi-final and championship games moved to Wednesday.
