Columbus to host 3A Golf regional tourney

Columbus Unified High School is the host for the Kansas High School Activities Association Class 3A Golf Regional, Monday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course.

Class 3A Baseball Regional continues

The Kansas Class 3A Regional Baseball Tournament continues Monday in Riverton.Quarterfinal winners, Caney Valley, the number one seed with a 15-5 record and Columbus, the number four seed at 14-10 will play the first game at 2 p.m.

Frontenac Softball Regional location

The Columbus Lady Titans will play Monday in the Kansas Class 3A Softball Regional in Frontenac. The local team is seeded second with a season record of 17-6. They will play Cherryvale (12-14) the number seven seed, at 4 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.

Titans blank Galena in 3A regional win

A seventh inning catch in left field by Columbus Sophomore, Shade Schuberger, and a headsup throw home, held the Galena runner at third base and helped secure a shutout in the Titans, 6-0, Kansas Class 3A Regional win over the Bulldogs, Wednesday, on Bomber Field in the Community Field Ballpark.

Titan of the Week

Lady Titan Eighth Grader, Cali Carpino, closed out her middle school golf career with a win on her home course, May 6. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week. Cali has led the Columbus Junior High Golf Team this season, sweeping the girls division in all six tournaments played.

Lady Titans take sweep over Riverton

The Columbus Lady Titans swept the Riverton Lady Rams, 7-1 and 8-7, May 5, at the Community Field Ballpark as they move into their final week of the regular season with a 17-5 record after falling to Frontenac in two games, 2-10 and 1-15, Thursday, Senior Night, on Rockette Field.

Titans host round one of 3A regional

The Columbus Titan Baseball Team is hosting the first/quarterfinal round game of the Kansas Class 3A Riverton Regional, Wednesday, at Bomber Field. The Titans drew the number four seed of the tournament with a 14-10 record. They will be hosting Galena, 12-12, the number five seed.

Columbus splits CNC pair with Frontenac

The Columbus Titans split a double header with CNC League rivals, Frontenac, Thursday, at Bomber Field. Columbus earned the 12-2 run rule in six innings and the Raiders topped the Titans, 13-5, in the night cap.

Lady Raiders spoil CUHS Senior Night

The Frontenac Lady Raiders extended their undefeated CNC League record and claimed the league title with a double header win in Columbus, Thursday, on the Lady Titans Senior Night.The reigning Kansas Class 3A State Champions put runs on the board early in each of the first three innings.
