Titan Senior, Jack Vilela had two singles and a run-batted-in and sophomore, Ethan Midgett, added a pair of singles, a walk, and a run scored as the Columbus Titans edged the Lamar, Mo. Tigers, 4-3, at Al Ortolani Field on the Pittsburg State University Campus.

The Columbus Junior High Seventh Grade Boys placed second in the Frontenac Track and Field Meet, Thursday, their final regular season meet before the league meet today. The team collected 94.

Lady Titan Senior, Mallory Thompson received four, I ratings in vocal and instrumental music at the Kansas State High School Activities Association’s Small Group and Individual State Competition, Saturday, in Wichita. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.
The Columbus Junior High School Golf Team placed third in the Caney Middle School Golf Tournament, Thursday at the Caney Golf Club. Lady Titans, Cali Carpino, Fallon Smiley, and Tyler Kirk place in the top ten individually to pick up two medals at the end of the day. Cali Carpino, Columbus Lady Titan Eighth Grader won the girls division and tied the top medalist in the boy’s division with a score of 39 to lead the CJHS Team in the Caney Junior High Golf Tournament, Thursday, at the Caney Golf Club.
The Columbus Titan Seventh Grade 4x800 Meter Relay Team set a new school record at the Girard Invitational Track and Field Meet, April 17. Team members Blaze Bowman, Evan Walters, Eli Engleman, Cam Carter completed the race with a time of 11:13.7 minutes beating the 2002 record of 11:38 minutes set by Chet Mercer, Cory Burton, Chris Wells, and Cody Morris. The Lady Titan Junior Varsity Team swept the visiting Lady Bulldogs from Galena, 9-3 and 15-7. Morgan Richards and Emma Parsons were the winning pitchers for Columbus.Galena scored all three runs in the first quarter of game one. Lead-off batter, Mackenzie New, reached first base on an error.
