25 Years Ago May 5 - May 11, 1999 Lindsay Newman, president of the Writin Titan organization, and Angela Regain, planted flowers in the flower beds outside of the Crossland Construction headquarters at Columbus. Fred Heistand, son of Fred Heistand and Dorothy Heistand, and Jim Bob Guy, son of James and Debbie Guy, were winners as the Kanas Division of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America held its state skills contest in Wichita.

25 Years Ago April 28 - May 4, 1999 The Lady Titan softball team took two wins at Pittsburg, blanking the Purple Dragons 10-0 in five innings in the first bout and taking a 2-1 win in the second round. Tara Wary took the pitching win in both games.
