First Assembly of God Church in Baxter Springs was the site of a two day Christmas market December 3 and 4. Among items on display were homemade baked goods, crafts, clothing and accessories. Entertainment for the weekend included Jack the Bible Donkey and area musicians. Photos by Dee Riley.
There were performances by area schools as well as a saxophone concert (at right) by Roger Scantlin, pastor of Spring River Assembly of God in Riverton. An array of food, drinks and visiting made for an unforgettable weekend experience.
This year the Baxter Springs Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with American Bank of Baxter Springs, brought back the Little Miss and Little Mister Holiday Contest.
The contestants sold tickets for one dollar each. The scoring was easy with the most money raised being the winner for each category. The contest was open to all area children ages zero-10 years old.
