One of my brothers remarked after the passing of our mother that our parents were always thankful and were always saying that they had been blessed by God.

A prayer for our fathers

Dear Father in heaven, watch over our earthly fathers. Protect the men who strive to protect their families. Guide these men as they guide their children, and comfort them as they comfort their wives and children.

Don’t be a pushover

There are times in our lives when we have to say “no” to requests made of us, and we may feel guilty about it, wishing that we could grant the request.I often find myself asking what the Christian response should be to these requests, or, in other words, what would Jesus do?

God calls broken people to help broken people

Throughout the Bible we see that God’s chosen messengers are almost always reluctant, broken people who can’t believe they are called to do God’s work. Moses complained that he was slow of speech (alluding to some type of speech impediment).
