Hodgsons welcome new baby boy

Waylon Tate Hodgson arrived a few weeks early to share his birthday with his great-grandpa and beat the new year. Waylon was born December 27 at 11:58 p.m. weighing eight pounds, 0.2 ounces and 19 inches long.

A new business was welcomed to Columbus before Christmas by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce members. The Personal Twist flower shop and knick-knacks, owned and operated by the Cooper Family located in the former Country Gardens building.
The Columbus High School band under the direction of Gae Phillips performed during the annual Christmas concert held December 19. Numbers performed included O Come All Ye Faithful, In The Bleak Mid-Winter, Carol of the Drum, Christmas Favorites and Holiday Galop.

Members of the Lone Elm Beavers 4-H Club decorated this float for the Columbus Christmas Parade. The group won second place in the novelty float division.There was large turnout for the annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas celebration Wednesday, December 4.
