Labette Community College (LCC) is delighted to receive another art piece from Aaron “Skip” Smith. He recently gave an original oil painting entitled “The Old Midwife” to the college. It will be displayed on the nursing floor of the Zetmeir Health Science Building.

Life Christian School again dominated the recent Midstates Christian League Music and Arts competition held at Ottawa, sweeping both divisions over Fort Scott’s Christian Learning Center and Ottawa’s Bethel Christian Academy.

The Easter Bunny will be in attendance for the annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held in Columbus Saturday, April 8 at the Columbus City Park located at South Kansas and Country Road. Parents are welcome to take pictures of their children with the Easter Bunny.

Several classes have sent their class alumni information on the upcoming 2023 All school reunion – the committee says “Thank You” to those classes. It is not uncommon after the letters are mailed, for the Chamber office to receive some returns (people have moved, etc.

Legislative breakfast set April 10

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs will host a Legislative breakfast Monday, April 10, during the legislative break. Breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. at Maple Uncommon Guest House and Gallery for members. Reservations will be needed.
