The Buddy Barker Award award is given to someone who did not participate in 4-H as a youth but has been an active adult advocate for 4-H in Cherokee County. Karen Densley was the recipient this year. In presenting the award Council President Parker Neeley noted “Karen is always willing to help with anything that needs done.”
Receiving the Outstanding Senior 4-H member of the year Jade Ohmart has been in the Shamrock 4-H Club for 10 years. She enjoyed showing her hogs at the county fair, she also did photography, and foods. Serving on the 4-H council as a representative for her club she was a role model for the younger members. Council president Parker Neeley presented the award.
Awards were presented Saturday morning to three supporters of the Cherokee County 4-H program in addition to club leaders and 4-H’ers during the 4-H Council awards ceremony.
This year’s outstanding senior 4-H’er award was presented to Jade Ohmart. The outstanding junior 4-Her award was presented to Gracie Hall.
