Columbus Fire Chief provides 2020 year in review

  • Three 5,000 gallon gasoline tanks were recently removed from the ground near the corner of Sixteenth on the west side of Military Avenue. The tank removal is under the supervision of the state The property is owned by the City of Baxter Springs. Plans are being made for a new fire station in that location. Mayor Tim Shallenburger appointed a Council Committee, they will be joined by fire department personnel and private citizens.
