Preparing for the hot dog eating contest Matt Case, manager of the Cherokee County Farmers Coop, was at the grill. Hundreds of the tasty treats were prepared for the contest and the free hot dogs were provided by Moates Excavating for the Cowtown Days in Baxter Springs.
A large crowd attended Cowtown Days with the food truck buffet supplying the cuisine and the tables placed around the Baxter Springs Library for a picnic like atmosphere.
Hundreds of geckos were on the library grounds during the Baxter Springs Cowtown Days festival Friday and Saturday. Leah Harris displays one of the creatures available at the booth.
Among those not winning the hot dog eating contest, Chris Worden and Connor O’Brian, were about to give up as they looked at the winner then looked at how far they were behind.
