The son of a longtime local doctor, was the guest speaker at the Baxter Springs Kiwanis Club luncheon on Wednesday.
Though Dr. Richard Claiborne never practiced in Cherokee County he returned to Baxter Springs after retiring from his Wichita practice. His father had been a long time surgeon based in Baxter Springs before his death in 1979.
