A property tax exemption has finally been approved by the Kansas Tax Appeals board for the Mercy Hospital complex in Galena. Officially ending the suspense surrounding Cherokee County losing one of it’s largest property tax payers.
The Appeals Board confirmed the non-profit status of Mercy’s Galena Hospital, effective on the original date of the sale January 29, 2020.
