All quilters are invited to enter their favorite items into the Columbus Day Festival Quilt Show. Entries may be dropped off at the Columbus Public Library through Thursday. Wall hangings and clothing articles are also welcome to be entered. The show will be held in the St. Rose Parish Hall on Friday, October 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, October 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vote for your favorite entry while you are there.
Enter your quilts or any type of quilted clothing, decor in the annual Columbus Day Quilt Show. Pieces can be new or old, hand or machine stitched. They can be made by you or someone else. Show them off to visitors. This quilt was entered last year by Merilee Wells. It is the Sisters Challenge.
Nora Lee Chad entered this Quilt of Valor in last year’s show. The piece is worked in the colors of navy, green and gold. Be sure to check out the show Friday and Saturday at St. Rose Parish Hall.
Mark Shoemaker from Lebanon, Mo., and his balloon Humbly Lifted is planning to lift off from the Industrial Park during the Columbus Day Festival Hot Air Balloon Regatta.
