Workers were atop the Baxter Springs First Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon covering the open area’s with tarps before anymore rain could get into the building.
“I have received more than 150 reports of damage, from the Sunday morning storm and additionally a report from the Baxter Springs Fire Department said their wind gauge hit 85 miles an hour,” reported Matt Haviland, Emergency Management Director for Cherokee County.A destructive storm blasted through the south part of Cherokee County early Sunday morning leaving debris in its wake....
